Chatra College, Chatra emerged on 1st July, 1961 under the illustrious leadership of Dr.Keshari Nandan Sahay ( Founder Principal Chatra College, Chatra) to facilitate the students of this rural and backward(socially, economically & educationally ) area of Jharkhand (then Bihar)gain higher & qualitative education. It is a constituent unit of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag. It is located off the main town at Chatra(a new district created on 31st March, 1991, a town of sylvan & religious surrounding and noiseless tranquility) in Chatra Chouparan road at NH-99 . The place of Chatra and its nearby area (especially Bhadrakali at Itkhori & Kauleshwari at Huntergunj) is beautiful confluence of Hinduism,Jainism & Budhism.
